Strategic Partnership Between the Syrian Initiative for Expertise and Development and Al Baraka Bank Syria

In a meaningful step toward empowering Syrian expertise and accelerating national development, the Syrian Initiative for Expertise and Development has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Al Baraka Bank Syria. The signing took place at the Bank’s headquarters in Damascus, in the presence of Mr. Omar Barhamji, CEO of Al Baraka Bank, and Mr. Mostafa Said Issa, Chairman of the Initiative, along with members from both teams.

This partnership lays the groundwork for a long-term collaboration aimed at supporting national development projects and enabling Syrian professionals—both at home and abroad—to actively contribute to Syria’s reconstruction through innovative and sustainable institutional channels.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Omar Barhamji said:

“We believe that partnerships between the private sector and civic initiatives are key to unlocking Syrian potential and advancing economic recovery. Supporting Syrian talent, especially those with valuable international experience, is a vital part of our responsibility—and the fastest path to building a resilient national economy.”

From his side, Mr. Mostafa Isa expressed his appreciation for the partnership and emphasized its significance as a milestone in the Initiative’s journey:

“Our partnership with Al Baraka Bank is the first building block in our national project. It’s a genuine boost for connecting Syrian expertise with high-impact efforts inside the country. This collaboration reflects our shared belief in investing in people and knowledge as the true drivers of recovery and development.”

The Initiative views this partnership as an entry point to expand future collaborations and strengthen institutional cooperation, aligned with a national vision that values expertise and places Syrian professionals at the center of rebuilding the country.
